Balance Act is located along the Scenic Routes of southern Norway, set within an extreme coastal landscape.
The site unfolds in three conditions: a flat parking area, a narrow strip of exposed rock, and a cliff that drops abruptly toward the sea.
Rather than claiming the ground, the project hovers above it—present, yet deliberately restrained.

The structure begins with a linear sequence of trusses.
From them, beams are suspended, and upon these beams, a second-floor walkway is laid—lifting the space step by step into lightness.
Walking along it, one no longer moves within the tracks, but above them, advancing slowly along a trace of time.

The walkway becomes a garden suspended above the railway.
Workshops are arranged linearly along one side of the tracks, following both the site’s directionality and the logic of the former railway.
Between making, walking, and pausing, new routines quietly settle into old infrastructure—where abandonment is no longer an end, but a line that continues to grow.
